These conversations are open ended rather than scripted, with the model improvising replies based on the persona it has been given.
A lot of AI companion and chatbot apps lean heavily on roleplay as their main draw, since it lets a user shape the character, the setting, and the tone of a conversation. It helps to know whether a platform is offering a single fixed character or a tool for building many, because that choice shapes how the app actually feels to use.
