An indicator, usually a checkmark or similar icon, that a platform displays next to a creator's name or profile to signal that the platform has confirmed their identity or account ownership. Requirements for earning one vary widely by site, from photo ID checks to follower thresholds or manual review.
Because almost any app can add a badge without a consistent standard, the symbol alone tells you very little about what was actually verified. Checking a platform's stated criteria is often more useful than trusting the icon itself.
